Yesterday the girls and I decided to play. I actually made a list on my arm with a green pen that just said “PLAY”. That was the agenda for the day. Aliana and I cut up an ugly striped t-shirt into a tanktop and hat. Then I got out the eyeliner and asked the girls what they wanted. Sadie chose straight lines, cleopatra style, and Aliana wanted a sunburst on one eye. (A bit Clockwork Orange, but the funny thing is, I don’t think she even has a clue about that movie…)
Last week, I found a beautiful bit of embroidered pink and orange fabric at the thrift store and draped it over my office chair (also thrifted.) I asked Sadie to climb into the chair for me. She was already wearing two bits of pink that worked perfectly. I did not direct her in anyway. She is really good at being dramatic. Aliana had left the room, I waited quite a while with my camera ready and attacked when she came back out. She’s kind of camera shy.
In this post I reveal what a complete mess my house is. It’s messy and cluttered and full of rainbows. It’s real.
Playing is awesome. The girls loved it, and I did too. Best day ever.
